DG ISPR issues cyber Alert Warning

ISLAMABAD – Major general Asif Ghafoor, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations, has warned the social media users that they should not be deceived by hackers misusing his name through malicious emails.

In a series of tweets made through his verified personal account, the ISPR chief revealed that the hackers were sending e-mails to users asking them to fill forms and enter their credentials, trying to defraud people using a domain name similar to the ISPR.

‘It is clarified that this is a phishing email which has no link to ISPR’ said the official, asking people not to open any such link with the subject ‘Appointment with Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor’.

The Pak Army spokesman continued that by opening the link in the scam mail, once can compromise the security of his/her computer or handheld device.

He also shared the official domain name of military’s media and expressed that there was no other domain name from which any official e-mail is forwarded.
