ICC members defend institution against US threat of sanctions

ISLAMABAD -Over half the member states of the International Criminal Court (ICC) have defended the institution in a diplomatic response to a United States threat of imposing sanctions against its employees.

A joint statement drafted by Costa Rica and Switzerland in The Hague, Netherlands was backed by 67 out of 123 of the ICC’s members.

The statement said the ICC is an “integral part” of the international judicial order and “a central institution in the fight against impunity”.
