Pakistan unveiled first ever indigenous built electric rickshaw

ISLAMABAD– Pakistan unveiled first ever indigenous built electric rickshaw.

Pakistani automotive manufacturer, Sazgar Engineering Works Limited, has unveiled an electric three-wheeler rickshaw for the first time in the country.

The ceremony took place at the Sazgar Car plant, situated at Sunder Road where Advisor to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam was invited as the chief guest.

Malik Amin Aslam addressed to the event saying that the world is progressing towards power sources and Pakistan also have to move towards it as it is the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government.

He lauded Sazgar automotives saying that he is happy that Sazgar carries the same vision in the country.

Sazgar Engineering Director Mian Ammar told Dunya News: “The new electric rickshaw is environmental friendly and it is exempted from petrol and maintenance cost”.

One of the attendants who is a rickshaw driver expressed that the prices of LPG and petrol is soaring with each passing day, and this new rickshaw may provide relief to commoners.
