Afghan Military airstrike kills at least 16 civilians of a family including women and children

KABUL - In Afghanistan, sixteen members of a family including women and children were killed in the southern Helmand province when an airstrike destroyed their home.
According to the head of the provincial council Attaullah Afghan, the airstrike was launched in the Sangin district during heavy fighting between Afghan forces and the Taliban.
Afghanistan Forces have earlier also carried out air strikes against the civilians.
