"Save the Children" office attack in Afghanistan, Afghan Taliban response


<link>KABUL - The Taliban group in Afghanistan rejects the involvement of the insurgents of the group as siege continues on a non-government organization in Jalalabad city, Khaama News has reported.

Provincial governor’s spokesman Ataullah Khogyani confirmed that the death of two people including a security personal and a civilian while twelve others have been wounded.

The group’s spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid issued a statement claiming that “The ongoing attack in Jalalabad has nothing to do with the Mujahidin of Islamic Emirate.”

A group of armed insurgents launched a coordinated attack in the city by initially detonating explosives near the office of an NGO.

According to the local officials, the siege of the NGO still continues despite two of the attackers have shot dead but the remaining insurgents continue to resist from inside the office of the NGO.

The provincial public health officials are saying that around twelve people wounded in the attack has so far been shifted to the hospitals for the treatment.
