Pakistan to renegotiate FTA with China, Senate informed

The Senate was informed on Tuesday that Pakistan is going to renegotiate Free Trade Agreement with China to reduce trade deficit between the two countries.

Responding to a question in the Senate, Minister of Commerce and Textile Muhammad Pervaiz Malik said that imports of worth twelve billion dollars come from China while Pakistan's export to Beijing stands at two billion dollars.

Answering another question, Pervaiz Malik said that the government is motivating to enhance value added production in Pakistan.

He said enhancing garments production is our ultimate objective to increase exports.

The Minister said that Pakistan exports are improving due to Prime Minister's Package of one eighty billion rupees.

Chairman Standing Committee on Interior, Rehman Malik informed the House that Punjab Police have arrested a 23 year old Imran in Zainab rape and murder case as his 99 percent of DNA has been matched with the samples taken from the crime scene.

Taking floor of the House, he said that the police have taken the accused directly to the laboratory to clear the remaining one percent doubt. He said that accused Imran was a neighborer of victim Zainab.

Rehman Malik appreciated the performance of the Punjab Police in apprehending the accused.
