General elections will be held on time, assures PM Shahid Abbasi
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the government will complete its term and the general elections will be held on time.
Talking to journalists on Tuesday, he said that he had to decide on the elections, not anyone else.
“We will not leave the government even a second before the due time,” he said.
Abbasi said Nawaz Sharif is still his that his prime minister. “The character and mind of the judges should also be told the people,” he said.
He said that Nawaz Sharif will lead the election campaign of the PML-N. “There is no room for the demand of ‘do more’ from the US,” he said. “The US should pay attention to the rehabilitation of refugees instead of spending billions of dollars on the war in Afghanistan.”
The prime minister said that peace is impossible without the resolution of the Kashmir issue. “Pakistan knows how to defend herself and has defended herself as well,” he said.
He said that they would contest the next election on the basis of performance. “We gave the projects of gas, electricity, Motorway and CPEC during our tenure,” he said.
