2 Changes in Pakistan squad for second T20 match against New Zealand
LAHORE – Pakistan Cricket Team has decided to make few changes ahead of the second T20 match against New Zealand being played tomorrow.
Ahmed Shehzad is likely to return in the playing XI for the second T20 international match against New Zealand as Pakistan prepare to avoid series defeat.
Both experienced campaigners Mohammad Hafeez and Ahmed Shehzad were left out of the side in the first T20 match. The green shirts had opened with Umar Amin and Fakhar Zaman.
Umar Amin – who was sent in as a replacement for the all-rounder Shoaib Malik – failed to live up to the expectations and got out without troubling the scoreboard.
Ahmed Shehzad is now expected to open the innings with Fakhar Zaman. Pakistan may also consider giving a chance to Hafeez.
Also, reports claimed that the team selection suggested opening with skipper Sarfraz Ahmed.
New Zealand had thrashed Pakistan with 25 balls to spare in the opening Twenty20 match in Wellington.
The second T20 match will be played on January 25 (Thursday) at Auckland. The game will start at 11am PKT. New Zealand lead the three-match T20 series by 1-0.
