Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore on Friday.
During the meeting measures taken for counter terrorism, overall political situation of the country and political issues were discussed.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction on measures for the improvement of peace and security in Punjab.Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that sacrifices made by Pakistani nation in the war against terrorism are unprecedented.
He said that effective implementation on National Action Plan broke the back bone of terrorists. He said that everyone in society needs to play their role in maintaining peace and stability in the country.He said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor is a game changer project and all four provinces including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir will also benefit from the CPEC project.
He said that CPEC has opened new avenues of investment, trade and business.Shahbaz Sharif said that CPEC would also play an important role in eliminating terrorism and extremism from the region as well as poverty alleviation.APP/AFP
