Security beefed up in Islamabad ahead of Accountability Court verdict against Nawaz Sharif

LAHORE – Security has been beefed up in Islamabad on Monday ahead of announcement of verdicts of Flagship and Al-Azizia, by the Accountability Court (AC) filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif.

Reportedly, enhanced security plan included deployment of heavy contingent of security forces including rangers and 1,000 police officers, particularly around the Accountability Court premises in Islamabad to curb a possible resistance by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) supporters.

Moreover, only Sharif and his lawyers have been allowed to enter the court room.
