Pakistan FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi met with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani in Kabul

ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Monday morning met with Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani in Kabul.

Qureshi had left for Kabul on the first leg of his four-nation visit.

The FM, during his three-day visit to Afghanistan, Iran, China, and Russia, will discuss the current international situation, and Afghan reconciliation process, reported Radio Pakistan.

He will also discuss bilateral ties, investment, and enhancement of bilateral trade with the leadership of the friendly countries.

Earlier, talking to PTV before his departure, the foreign minister said Pakistan wants peace and stability in the region.

He said the aim of his visit is to take the friendly countries into confidence on recent developments in the region.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said we should understand each others’ problems and sit together to find a solution to them.

He said all forces of the region would have to take joint responsibility for the sake of lasting peace and development in the region.
