Landmine blast at Pak Afghan border: 3 FC soldiers martyred

PESHAWAR – At least three personnel of Frontier Corps (FC) were martyred during a landmine blast in a tribal area near Pak-Afghan border on Sunday.

As per the details, the blast took place in Ghulam Khan, a town in North Waziristan. Ghulam Khan is on the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. It is the third most important border crossing point between Pakistan and Afghanistan, after Chaman and Torkham.

A search operation has been launched in the area to trace the culprits, while the bodes have been shifted to hospital for the medical procedure.

Earlier this month, a 21-year-old army officer, Second Lieutenant Abdul Moeed and Sepoy Basharat embraced martyrdom.

Abdul Moeed recently passed out from Pakistan Military Academy and belonged to Burewala, Vehari.

‘He was the eldest of four siblings and loved me very much’ said the mother of the deceased soldier.

However, Sepoy Basharat is a resident of a village in Gilgit-Baltistan.
