ISLAMABAD - The Lahore High Court has suspended the new constitution of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which came into force on August 19 after Federal Cabinet’s approval.
The order comes after applicants Ahmed Nawaz and Munir Ahmed approached the High Court for the suspension of the new constitution.
The applicants had maintained that the new constitution has restricted cricket to only six associations. They further stated that the position of governing board’s members has been abolished and new constitution also completely ignores the process of accountability.
The orders of suspension were issued by Justice Shahid Mubeen of LHC.
It is noteworthy that after the suspension of new constitution, the old constitution of 2014 has been restored.
