*ISLAMABAD - Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal has said that he believes Dr Aafia Siddiqui does not want to return to Pakistan.*
Speaking to the *Independent Urdu* link, he said if US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Imran Khan meet in the future they could speak about a prisoner exchange involving Dr Siddiqui and Dr Shakeel Afridi.
Dr Siddiqui was convicted in 2010 of seven counts of attempted murder and assault of US personnel and is currently serving an 86-year sentence at the Federal Medical Center, Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas.
Last year, Dr Siddiqui’s sister Fowzia approached Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and requested him to bring up this matter with the Americans, said Dr Faisal.
In a Tweet, the minister had said that they were looking into ways to facilitate Dr Siddiqui’s return to Pakistan. Houston Consul General Ayesha Farooqui also met Dr Siddiqui on the directives of the minister.
