ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army Corps Commanders Conference emergency meeting has raised alarm bells for the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The army on Monday in a Corps Commanders’ Conference pledged that the institution through its members in the JIT shall play its due role in a legal and transparent manner, the ISPR said in a statement.
The Supreme Court in Panama case verdict on April 20th had directed to form a joint investigations team (JIT) including members from the ISI, MI, State Bank, SECP, NAB and the FIA to probe into the financial affairs of the Sharif Family.
The opposition parties had cast doubts on the transparency of the investigations saying that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would influence the probe.
Senator Aitzaz Ahsan of Pakistan Peoples’ Party on Saturday said that ISI Chief is a relative of Sharif Family and rejected the JIT.
The forum pledged that institutions through its member in JIT shall play its due role in a legal and transparent manner fulfilling confidence reposed by the Apex Court of Pakistan.
