APHC Chairman says Kashmiris witnessing Karbala-like situation in IOK
In occupied Kashmir, Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Gilani says the Kashmiri people, fighting for a just cause for the last over seven decades, are witnessing Karbala-like situation almost every day.
In a statement in Srinagar, he strongly condemned the use of brute force by Indian police on Aashura processions in Srinagar yesterday leaving scores of mourners injured.
Meanwhile, several people were injured when Indian troops and police used brute force on peaceful demonstrators in Shirmal area of Shopian district today.
They were protesting against a cordon and search operation in the area.
The troops also launched similar operations in several villages of Pulwama district, today.
Complete shutdown was observed in Bandipora town for the second consecutive day today against the martyrdom of five youth by Indian troops.
In Geneva, the Kashmir delegation to UN Human Rights Council has launched a photo exhibition showing sufferings of Kashmiri people through the work of renowned international photojournalists working in occupied Kashmir.
Students of the University of Geneva and human rights activists from various conflict zones took keen interest in the exhibition.
Addressing on the occasion, Kashmiri representatives, Altaf Hussain Wani and Ahmed Quraishi, appealed to international community to take cognizance of the Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir.
