JUI - F Chief Fazalur Rahman faces the worst setback

LAHORE: *JUI - F Chief Fazalur Rahman faces the worst setback as a alliance of over two dozens religious Sunni parties, *Madaris Deenia and Tanzeemat-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat on Tuesday decided against joining Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F) Chief Fazal-ur-Rehman’s Azadi March, media reported.

Chairman Sunni Ittehad Council, Sahibzada Hamid Raza announced about this decision in a press conference in Lahore.

“Azadi March is against national security and no member registered with our franchises will become part of it,” he said.

In the previous week, Jamia Binoria Aalimiyah chief Mufti Muhammad Naeem also said that they will not join the march.

“Seminaries’ students should not be used for one’s own political benefits,” He said.

He assured the two-member delegation comprising Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri and Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi of not becoming part of Azadi March.

On October 14, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman telephoned Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan (JI) leader Liaquat Baloch to discuss the Azadi March and sought his support but Baloch apologised to extend any kind of support.
