Top Pakistani official elected to head key World Bank body

NEW YORK - Top Pakistani official has been elected as the head of the key World Bank body.
Pakistan’s Shahid Ashraf Tarar, an executive director of the World Bank, has been elected as chairman of the Human Resources Committee of the Bank’s board.
The committee is tasked with contributing to its twin goals of ending extreme poverty and boosting shared prosperity, according to a press release.
