ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Wednesday approved the three-month sick leave sought by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

Dar had requested the premier to allow him a sick leave as he is feeling sick and undergoing medical treatment outside the country, according to informed sources. In a letter to the PM, Dar said that he is not resigning from the office but seeking leave to take a respite from the affairs of the ministry.

Sources revealed that the minister under treatment in London has also been relieved from heading the Pak-Russia joint commission. PM transferred this responsibility to Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif, the sources claimed.

It was stated that if Dar didn’t return within three months then some other person will be considered to head the ministry.
