Modi's BJP leads in early India vote count

NEW DELHI:In India, counting of votes in the general elections begun today, with Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party taking an early lead.
According to the Indian media, BJP is leading by 305 seats out of total 542 seats in the lower house. While Congress is in the second position with 112 seats.
Six of the seven exit polls held before counting had shown that the National Democratic Alliance, led by Modi’s Hindu nationalist BJP will secure simple majority.
