PPP ready to sacrifice for country’s defence

ISLAMABAD: Former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, on the eve of Pakistan Day, has said Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was ready to sacrifice for the defence of the country.

In a message, the former President reminded the nation to heed the lessons of Father of the Nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and stand devoted to his ideology.

He said that besides celebrating this day, people should also remember the legends and personalities who devoted their lives for the progress of the country.

He said that political stability was attainable only by following the principles of Quaid-e-Azam.

The former president saluted sacrifices of the armed forces of the country and said that the soldiers of the nation were always ready to defend and protect the sovereignty of their motherland.

He added that it could not be ignored that Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto paved way for Pakistan as a nuclear power and that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto strengthened the defence by gifting the country missile technology.

He said that it was unfortunate that the ideology of Quaid-e-Azam was being polluted and corrupted by anti-democratic and anti-people sentiments which were further amplifying the pain of the downtrodden masses.

The former president concluded by saying Pakistan would always produce a united front against its enemies and that PPP would always strive to follow the ideology of Quaid-e-Azam.
