*KARACHI: *The Pakistan flag was hoisted and lit yesterday on the Jandran Ridge in Kohlu, Balochistan to mark the 78th Pakistan Day .
The flag approximately measures 300×200 ft and rests 5,577 ft above sea-level.
Pakistan Day is celebrated to commemorate the passing of Lahore Resolution when the All India Muslim League stipulated a separate muslim nation from the British empire on March 23, 1940.
Earlier today the celebrations kicked off with a joint military parade at the Parade Ground near Islamabad’s Shakarparian Hills.
Troops marched past and fighter jets presented a fly past. Floats representing myriad cultures of Pakistan were also displayed.
