ISLAMABAD, June 23 (APP): Pakistan Railways Ramzan and Eid Concessional Packages

 

The Pakistan Railways is planning to announce concession in fares to facilitate the passengers on Eid-ul-Fitr.

 

"A proposal to reduce fare on Eid will be forwarded to Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique," official sources in the Ministry told APP.

 

They said that Pakistan Railways had announced concession in fairs every year on Islamic festivity to provide relief to the passengers, who go to celebrate Eid with their beloved one.

 

To a question, they said the reduction in fare also attracts more passengers and help generate more revenue for the national entity.

 

"The step of Pakistan Railways towards reducing fares will be a source of relief for the masses, who are already suffering from price hike situation and overcharging of profiteers in Ramadan-ul-Mubarik," they added.

 

"Pakistan Railways has taken several steps to facilitate the passengers as it is a cheaper mode of transportation for the general public," they said.

 

It is pertinent to mention here that, Pakistan Railways has also announced a special package for the Holy Month of Ramadan by reducing fares up to 10-25 percent to facilitate the passengers.

 

The special package was applicable from the start of the holy month of Ramazan till 20th of Ramazan.

 

The decision has been taken on the directives of Minister for Railways and the facility will be available for the passengers in the form of advanced reservation of seats only.

 

The passengers have provided facility of reduced fares up to 16-25 percent in trains of different classes of Bahauddin Zakaria, Sukker Express, Multan Express and Mehr Express.

 

Karachi Express, Pak Business, Jaffer Express, Bahauddin Zakaria Express have offered discount in fares up to 11-15 percent.

 

However, Millat Express, Tez Gam, Awam Express, Allama Iqbal, Subuk Khuram, Rawal Express, Islamabad Express and Margalla Express have gave discount up to 10 percent in fares.
