Rs 6 bln spent on Greater Sewerage Project in Karachi, SA informed

Sindh Assembly resumed its session at new Sindh Assembly building in Karachi on Tuesday. Agha Siraj Ahmed Durrani is presiding over the session.

At the start of the session Sindh Minister for Local Bodies Saeed Ghani answering the questions asked by members during question hour about local bodies development informed the house that work on S-III Sewerage project for Karachi is underway.

He said since this project is joint venture of Sindh and Federal government, therefore Sindh government has requested federal government to increase its share in the project.

He said that Sindh government has spent an amount of six billion rupees on Greater Sewerage Project in Karachi.

He informed the house that 460 million gallon daily (MGD) sewerage water will be treated under this project.

Opposition leader in Sindh assembly Firdous Shamim and Nusrat Sahar Abbasi of GDA expressed concern over delay in project.
