PM inaugurates employment provision project costing Rs186mn

MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Farooq Haider Khan inaugurated an employment provision project of establishing 300 dairy farms with an estimated cost of Rs 186 million.

The formal agreement was signed between Agriculture Development Bank Muzaffarabad AJK and Department of Agriculture and Livestock Affairs here at PM secretariat.

Secretary Agriculture and Livestock Affairs, Raja Tariq Masood Khan and Zonal Chief Agriculture Development Bank, Shahzad Iqbal inked the memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, ministers including Sardar Farooq Ahmed Tahir, Nasir Hussain Dar, DG Agriculture and Livestock, Raja Matloob Hussain, Zonal Manager Operation, Mohmmad Iftikhar Khan, Manager Agriculture Development Bank Muzaffarabad and Mohmmad Shafiq Awan were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, AJK Premier the project would generate income and employment opportunities in rural areas that would revolutionize the lives of rural communities.

He said livestock sector would not only get boost in liberated area but would also promote business activities in rural areas.

Earlier, PM was told that 300 dairy farms would be setup across AJK and department of livestock and dairy production would provide technical assistance. Rs.383.30 million rupees would be generated from these farms annually and Rs 1.2 million would be the minimum average income from each project.
