ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Council of Higher Education (CoHE) Turkey have mutually approved 11 joint research projects under Pak-Turk Researchers Mobility Grant Programme.
The programme is part of the Turkish-Pakistani cooperation within the scope of internationalization effort of higher education systems, a news release Monday said.
The programme support new scientific and technological cooperation between Turkish and Pakistani higher education institutions through provision of funds for mobility of graduate students and academic staff.
The projects have been approved for funding for three-year duration in six priority areas which include energy, food technologies, sustainable environment technologies, material sciences, smart transportation systems, robots and smart systems.
The Pakistani universities along with their Turkish counterparts that have awarded the grant are Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad and Karadeniz Technical University, Trabzon, University of Agriculture Faisalabad and Nigde Omer Halisdemir University, Nidge, GIK Institute of Engineering Science and Technology and Dumlupinar University Karabuk University, Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences and Akdeniz University, Antalya, Government College University, Lahore and Bartin University, Bartin, Government College University, Faisalabad and Bingol University, Bingol, University of Engineering and Technology Lahore and Sakarya University, Sakarya Istanbul Technical University.
The next call for research projects under the programme will be announced in May 2018.
