Lahore High Court verdict on Pension arrears case

LAHORE: (APP) Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah on Monday disposed of contempt petitions filed by 36 retired Punjab government employees against non-payment of pension arrears after assurance that the arrears were being paid to the petitioners.
Sher Muhammad and other petitioners had approached the court for payment of their double pension arrears.
During the hearing, a law officer on behalf of the Punjab government submitted a schedule/notification for payment of the arrears to the retired government employees.
He apprised that the arrears were being paid to the petitioners whereas remaining non-petitioner retired employees would also be paid dues as per schedule.
At this, the court disposed of the contempt petitions.
