Leading US daily again exposed Indian PM Modi’s led BJP government in India
ISLAMABAD - Leading US daily the Washington Post says freedom of expression is under attack in India as the country heads down the path of authoritarianism and hyper-nationalism.
In an article, the Paper quotes several journalists who are facing pressures and intimidations from the ruling BJP.
While some journalists are abused on social media for criticizing the government, others are forced to resign for supporting the stance of Occupied Kashmir and questioning the government's decision to revoke special status of the territory.
The paper writes that minorities are being stifled and those speaking against tyranny and discrimination are threatened as the Modi government tightens its grip on the country’s political and economic life.
