LHC issues notice to NAB on ex-PM's application

LAHORE (APP): A Lahore High Court (LHC) division bench on Monday issued notices to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for September 6 on an application, filed by former premier Raja Pervaiz Ashraf against fresh notices for his appearance before the Bureau in an inquiry into alleged bogus recruitment in Gepco.
The bench, headed by Justice Mehmood Maqbool Bajwa, heard the civil miscellaneous application, filed in a pending petition by the former premier for directions to set aside the notices/summons issued to him by NAB for appearance in an inquiry.
Earlier, the petitioner's counsel submitted that NAB had issued fresh notices to the petitioner for appearance in an alleged recruitment inquiry despite the court restraining orders.
He contended that NAB's action was a violation of court orders and his client was being victimised.
The bench, after hearing arguments, issued notices to the Bureau for September 6 with direction to submit reply.
