IHC grants bail to Zardari’s legal advisor in fake bank accounts case

ISLAMABAD: The legal adviser for former President Asif Ali Zardari got pre-arrest bail from Islamabad High Court (IHC) in fake bank accounts case being probed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

A two-member bench of IHC consisted of Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiani, was listening to the petition.

Advocate Abu Bakar Zardari had filed a petition in IHC seeking bail in the case by disclosing that NAB had summoned him on Tuesday for interrogation and it was feared that he may be arrested by the bureau.

The accused was allegedly involved in payments for eleven imported armed vehicles and payments of duties of vehicles through such fake accounts.

The IHC approved the bail of accused against the surety bonds of Rs. five lacs and a personal guarantee and barred NAB for arrest of the accused.
