CPEC: Mega energy project launched in Gwadar

ISLAMABAD - Under the umbrella of China Pakistan Economic Corridor, Mega energy project is being launched in Gwadar.

The Federal Government has given the green signal to start a 300-megawatt (MW) power project in Gwadar under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The work on the project will start in October this year with an estimated cost of $540 million, after delays due to conflicts over tariff rates.

The government has also decided to form a special appellate tribunal to settle the tariff issue, Express reported link.

The announcement was made after Cabinet Committee for CPEC’s meeting earlier this week.
