In yet another milestone, CPEC reaches Africa

ISLAMABAD - China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and Belt and Road Initiative Summit is being held in Cairo, Egypt from today.

A Pakistani delegation including the private sector businessmen will participate in the summit and will meet their counterparts to promote trade relations between Pakistan and Egypt.

The delegation also have a special mission to promote CPEC program and invite investment from Egyptians in Special Economic Zones for the establishment of SMEs and other projects in the services sector.

Earlier, September 20, after coming back from Saudi Arabia and UAE official trip, Federal Information Minister Fawad told that Saudi Arabia is going to join as the third member of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Addressing media in Islamabad, Information Minister Fawad Choudhry briefed about Prime Minister Imran Khan’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.

He told that a high level Saudi delegation will arrive Pakistan in October this year to formally discuss the different important issues trade and security.

“Saudi Arabia is the first country that Pakistan has invited to become a third member of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)”

Chaudhry said that Pakistan’s main interest lies in cooperation with Saudi Arabia on matters of trade and security.

“A high-level coordination committee has has been constituted [to look into matters of trade and commerce] and it has the complete backing of Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud and PM Khan,” Fawad Chaudhry said.

He said that Saudi Arabia is the first country that Pakistan has invited to become a third partner in CPEC and the projects that Saudi Arabia would be investing in will be smoothed out during the Saudi delegation’s visit, scheduled for the first week of October.
