ISLAMABAD – After the National Assembly, the Senate also passed the Electoral Reform Bill on Friday, paving the way for former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to become the party president.
Law Minister Zahid Hamid presented the Electoral Reforms Bill. Difference appeared between Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani and Zahid Hamid over section 60 of the Bill.
The Senate chairman said that an amendment cannot be made to another amendment, while the minister was of the view that the amendment can be made.
Later, voting was held in the House and the members rejected the opinion of Raza Rabbani.
