ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif is retiring on November 29.

Who will be his successor is a question which is being asked by every Pakistani.

Top 4 Generals for the slot of Pakistan Army Chief

All the four senior most candidates are from the Pakistan Military Academy’s (PMA) 62nd long course but have had different career paths.

Lieutenant General Zubair Mahmood Hayat’s name is on the top of seniority list. He is currently serving as Chief of General Staff (CGS) while he has also performed duties as Director General Strategic Plan Division and Corps Commander Bahawalpur.

On the second priority, Lieutenant General Ishfaq Nadeem is Corps Commander in Multan while he was also appointed as Chief of General Staff and Director General Military Operations. He has contributed a lot to design operation Zarb-e-Azb.

Lieutenant General Javed Iqbal Ramday, currently supervising Bahawalpur Corps, is present on third number. He has served as General Officer Commanding in Swat operation while he was also functioned as president of National Defence University.

Lieutenant General Qamar Javed Bajwa is working as Inspector General Training and Evaluation at General Headquarters (GHQ). He has also worked as Commander of Rawalpindi Corps.
