WHO upholds Polio travelling restrictions for Pakistan

KARACHI: While expressing its concerns over the  situation of polio in Pakistan, World Health Organization has decided to uphold travelling restrictions for Pakistan.

According to media reports, International Health Regulation Committee meeting was held here at today regarding the prevention from transfer of virus in other countries.

Participants of the meeting expressed their serious concerns over the polio virus situation in Pakistan and decided to extend travelling restrictions for Pakistan to further 3 months while Pakistani government has been informed in this regard.

It is also worthy to mention here that polio vaccine certificate was declared essential for those who wanted to travel in other countries by WHO and now it has been extended for three months.
