Naeem ul Huq reveals Why he is not contesting elections?

*ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Naeemul Haque on Thursday said that he is not contesting the upcoming general elections as one needs “crores” to enter the electoral arena in the current political system, ARY News reported.*

“These days, you need to have at least two or three crores (20 or 30 million) to contest polls in Pakistan and I am not in a position to spend such a huge amount.. in this rotten (political) system we have no one to speak about the problems common people are facing,” said the PTI leader.

Naeemul Haque maintained that he is not a traditional politician and does not hold influence in a particular constituency otherwise he could have contested from any of the 21 constituencies of Karachi.

He, however, added that his party didn’t award tickets on the basis of influence, money or power.

“I hope, when Imran Khan ascends to premiership, we (PTI) will bring such changes to the system that poor people of the country too can participate in the political process and poverty doesn’t become an obstacle in their way,” said Naeemul Haque.

About the protests outside PTI chief Imran Khan’s house over distribution of party tickets, he said that no other party allows its workers to question party chief’s decision but PTI, as a democratic party, allows this difference of opinion.

“Their (the protesters’) demands have been heard and a review panel has also been formed,” concluded the PTI leader.
