Indian nationals celebrating Pakistan's victory should be sent to Pakistan: Indian Politician

The chief for India’s minorities commission says people who celebrated Pakistan Champions Trophy win “should go to Pakistan or better be sent there”, India media reported.

Pakistan defeated India by a massive 180 runs in the high-octane final of the ICC Champions Trophy at The Oval on Sunday.

“Some people in India reportedly likened Pakistan's victory to Eid before Eid,” Gairul Hasan Rizvi, chairman of the National Commission for Minorities said.

“I was asked about it...So, I said those who feel happy about Pakistan's victory should go and live there or they can be sent packing for their hearts lie in that country.”

Police said they had arrested and later set free some 15 men for raising pro-Pakistan slogans and bursting crackers after India’s defeat on Sunday.

The 15 men, most of them youngsters, had been charged with Section 153 A of the Indian Penal Code for disturbing communal harmony.
