Former Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik has hailed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s decision for not adding him in the centrally contracted players along with senior all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez.

“It was the best step taken by the PCB not to reward me and Hafeez the central contract because other players are more deserving than us. I fully back their decision that youngsters were given the priority,” Malik said in a presser at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

All-rounder said that not just him, every player gets angry over criticism and is also fully aware of his bad performances in the ICC World Cup 2019.

“I know my performances in the World Cup were not good and I was criticized heavily but I have left those things behind. In T20Is my exhibitions were good whenever the team was at number one spot,”

Right-handed batsman appreciated new management led by former captain Misbah-ul-Haq decision of picking up new players and he has no complaints on why he was excluded from the side after the World Cup.

“It is acceptable that new management came and decided to select new players. Their aim was to play a well-balanced side and as far as I am concern, I am always positive and looking for a new opportunity to shine for Pakistan,”
