Afghan Taliban kill, injure 7 Army soldiers, take away ammunitions from Army checkpost

LASHKARGAH - Afghan Taliban have intensified their deadly attacks over the Afghan National Army in the recent days and continue to strike multiple times a day the Army checkpost across the country.

In one recent such attack Four Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers have been killed and three others injured in the Taliban attack in the Greashk district of Helmand, an official said, Pajhwok news has reported.

Major Abdul Qadir Bahadurzai, deputy commander of the 215th Maiwand Corps media wing in Helmand, told the Taliban had attacked the ANA post in Sarband area of Greshk district on Sunday.

He said four ANA soldiers were killed and three more wounded in this attack. Governor Spokesman Umar Zwak confirmed the incident but did not provide the detail.

Taliban spokesman Qari Yousaf Ahmadi claimed responsibility for the attack. He wrote in his Twitter account that the attack was carried out by the Taliban's special unit.

He claimed 10 ANA soldiers were killed in the attack; the check-post was captured, arms and ammunitions recovered by the Taliban.
