PSDP 2016-17: Rs 31 billion approved for HEC 137 projects

ISLAMABAD: (APP) National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs, Statistics and Privatization Tuesday approved fund proposals Rs 31 billion under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for various projects of Higher Education Commission (HEC).
The committee, under Chairmanship of Senator Qaiser Ahmad Sheikh, approved as many as 137 projects of the HEC, including 95 ongoing projects, 16 unapproved projects of last year and 26 new projects.
The HEC representatives informed the committee that an amount of Rs 25 billion had been proposed for new projects, Rs 2.7 billion for unapproved projects of last year and 2.4 billion projects for new projects.
The committee lauded the efforts of HEC for promoting higher education of the country.
