Shahbaz Sharif’s trouble worsens

LAHORE - The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed a supplementary reference in Accountability Courtagainst Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) president and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif and 12 others including Ahad Cheema in Ashiana Housing scandal.

According to details, the inquiry in the said reference was initiated on January 10 while investigation into the corruption charges began on May 4 this year.

Sharif and his alleged accomplices are accused of misusing authority and subsequent embezzlement of funds which caused a heavy loss to the national exchequer.

Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif’s residence in Ministers’ Enclave in Islamabad has been declared a sub-jail and his travel to Lahore has been cancelled given his medical condition requiring examination by doctors in coming days.
