Pakistan foreign reserves decrease due external debt payment

ISLAMABAD: The country's total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$20.383 billion on December 15, as compared to the total reserves of $20.68 billion a week earlier.
The decrease in reserves was due to payments on account of external debt servicing and other official outflows, a statement issued by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Thursday said.
According to break-up of foreign reserves position, the foreign reserves held by the SBP witnessed a slight decrease of $334 million to $14,332.2 million in the current week. While net foreign reserves held by commercial banks increased to $6.05 billion million in current week from $6.02 billion in previous week.
