Book for Persian language learners by Iranian Council

PESHAWAR (APP): The Iranian Cultural Centre has published a book for the Persian language learners. An eminent writer Syed Ghayoor Hussain has authored the book.
The writer teaches Persian at the centre. He also takes the language classes at other universities.
He has to his credit other books, including Farsi Ikhtiari, Yusra Nama and Farsi Zaban Ka Pakistani Kee Qoumi Aur Ilaqai Zabano Par Asr.
The Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Department for Urdu Studies Chairperson, Prof Dr Basmina Siraj, has written the foreword to the book.
She has praised the author for his Persian language works and commended him for preparing the Persian course of study for the women university.
In the introduction to his book, Syed Ghayoor Hussain has opined that the Persian learning is needed for fully understanding the Urdu literature, especially poetry.
He praised SBBWU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Razia Sultana and its Urdu Department Chairperson Prof Dr Basmina Siraj for taking the initiative of launching the Persian classes for the Urdu literature students.
The title of the book has been taken from the couplet of acknowledged Persian classical poet Hafiz-e-Shirazi.
The first part of the book has poetry of Hafiz-e-Shirazi, Sheikh Saadi and Allama Iqbal.
The portion has the Persian grammar, words common in Persian and Urdu with both same and different meanings. Useful Persian expressions with Urdu translation have been given as well.
The last part of the book has the Persian idioms with the Urdu translation.
There is a list of books and other resources in the end to facilitate those who want to expand the scope of their study.
