CJP takes suo moto notice against ECP orders

ISLAMABAD – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Sunday took suo moto notice against orders by the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP)
SC suo moto relates to ECP ban on recruitments for government jobs.
As per details garnered, CJP has issued notice to ECP secretary whereas a three-member bench has been constituted to assume the hearing from tomorrow (April-23, 2017).
The three-member bench will be headed by CJP and comprise Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Ijazul Hassan.
It is pertinent here to mention that ECP on April-11 had imposed a ban on pre-election recruitment and uplift works across the country announced after April 1.
Also the diversion of funds for development works would not take place. However, recruitment process through the public service commission would be continued.
