Pak-Iran gas pipeline: Pakistan delegation to visit Tehran in May

ISLAMABAD: (APP) The Senate was informed on Friday that Pakistani delegation would visit Iran in May for holding talks on Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project.

Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources in a written reply to the question of Senator Najma Hamid says that the project is being pursued for implementation and on recent visit of President of Iran to Pakistan on 26-27 March, 2016 the project also came under discussion.

The contractual volume of gas to be received from Iran is 750 MMdfd.

It was agreed by both sides to revive discussions on the project in the wake of removal of international sanctions on Iran.

Pursuant to the meeting, Iranian side has invited Pakistan for meeting in May, 2016. The proposed agenda of the meeting include preparation of workable implementation schedule through amendment in the Gas Sales and Purchase Agreement and Iranian proposed amendments.
