Iqbal Day activities across Pakistan
LAHORE, Apr 21 (APP): The 78th death anniversary ofvisionary poet and philosopher Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal, thepoet of the East, was observed with traditional zeal in the provincial metropolis.
Scores of people from all walks of life thronged Iqbal's mausoleum to pay homage to the greatest thinker of the 20th century.
A delegation of Nazria e Pakistan Trust, led by its Chairman Muhammad Rafique Tarar visited the mausoleum and offered Fateha.
Former President of Pakistan Muhammad Rafique Tarar paid homage to the greatest thinker of the 20th century and stressed the need to disseminate his message to the youth.
A Punjab University delegation also visited the mausoleum and offered Fateha.
Political figures and intellectuals also visited Dr Muhammad Iqbal's mausoleum in the provincial metropolis and paid homage to the great poet who presented the idea of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-continent.
A large number of students and teachers also visited Iqbal's mausoleum and paid rich tribute to the great poet. The visiting students sang Kalam e Iqbal on the occasion besides offering Fateha on the occasion.
The schools, colleges and universities held poetry recitation and Kalam-e-Iqbal competitions, speech contests and seminars to commemorate the 78th death anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
Various political parties, social and cultural organizations held special programmes to commemorate the 78th death anniversary of the poet of the East, Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
