Pakistan XI defeats UK Media XI in Peace Cup match in North Waziristan

MIRANSHAH: Pak XI on Thursday defeated UK Media XI by 133 runs in the T20 match in Miranshah, main town in  North Waziristan Agency that borders Afghanistan. .

The guests could make 120 runs in 20 overs. Earlier, UK Media XI won the toss and chose to field. Excellent batting performance by Shahid Afridi helped Pak XI make a huge total of 254 runs against UK Media XI.  

Hundreds of spectators from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) witness the match Younas Khan stadium where army commanders and KPK governor were also present. 

The Pakistan army on Wednesday announced the schedule for the match being played in Younas Khan stadium as part of Peace Cup . “Peace & prosperity is our destiny,” wrote military spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor on Wednesday. 

The match is part of a series titled Peace Cup , organised by the Pakistan Army, Pakistan Cricket Board and PSL franchise Peshawar Zalmi.

Pakistani stars Inzamam ul Haq, Shahid Afridi, Younis Khan, Kamran Akmal, Junaid Khan, Umer Gul, Mushtaq Ahmed, Riaz Afridi and Wajhatullah Wasti are playing in the match.
