Captain (R) Safdar desirous of joining Islamabad Dharna

ISLAMABAD: Captain (r) Safdar voiced support for the Islamabaddharna or sit-in protest staged by religious parties at the Faizabad highway on Tuesday.

Speaking exclusively to SAMAA TV, the senior PML-N leader and husband of Maryam Nawaz said that the people protesting in Islamabad had taken to the streets for the Finality of Prophethood.

“If it was up to me, even I would take part in the sit-in protest,” he said.

Captain (r) Safdar showed open support for protestors who have blocked the Faizabad highway and caused massive traffic jams.

The protesters, led by TLP chief Khadim Hussain Rizvi, are calling for the sacking of Law Minister Zahid Hamid and strict action against those behind the amendment to the Khatm-e-Nabuwwat oath in the Elections Act 2017 ─ which had earlier been deemed a ‘clerical error’ by the government and subsequently rectified by the Parliament.
