Pak-Afghan border reopens after PM’s directions

Pakistan-Afghanistan border at Torkham and Chaman was reopened for all sort of traffic on Tuesday morning.
Opening of the border was announced by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Monday as a gesture of goodwill to the Afghan people.
The border was closed on 16th of last month due to a number of terrorist attacks in different parts of the country which claimed the lives of more than one hundred and thirty innocent people.
The terrorist attacks were planned and supervised inside Afghanistan.
Sources of political administration Khyber Agency told our Peshawar correspondent Lutf ur Rehman that only those Afghan nationals will be allowed to cross the border who have valid traveling documents.
UN welcomes PM Nawaz's decision about reopening of Pak-Afghan border
Meanwhile, the United Nations has welcomed Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif's decision regarding reopening of the Pak-Afghan border.
This was stated by Deputy Spokesman of the UN Secretary-General Farhan Haq in a regular news briefing in New York.
He said the people of the two countries would be able to move freely after the decision.
