Indian Police crackdown against Kashmiri people in IOK

In Occupied Kashmir, Indian police arrested over three dozen people during house raids in Srinagar, Islamabad, Pulwama, Kulgam and Bandipore districts.

The arrests were made ahead of the forthcoming so-called Indian parliamentary elections in the territory.

The detainees include students of 7th, 8th and 10th classes, a 65-year-old civilian and a physically-disabled Muhammad Afzal Parrey.

Hundreds of people from Chawalgam and Budroo areas of Kulgam district, today, staged protest demonstrations and blocked the road against the arrest of youth by police.

The All Parties Hurriyet Conference in a statement has urged human rights organizations including Amnesty International and International Committee of Red Cross to take practical steps for the release of Kashmiri political prisoners languishing in different Indian jails.
